Stock Calculator Formula:
P = [ (SP x NS) – SC ] – [ (BP x NS) + BC ]
Here,
P = Profit
SP = Selling Price.
NS = Number of Shares.
SC = Selling Commission.
BP = Buying Price.
BC = Buying Commission.
So,
Profit = [ (Selling price x Number of Shares) – Selling Commission ] – [ (Buying Price x Number of Shares) – Buying commission ]
Example, You have purchased 15 Shares at $917 with a buying commission of $20 and you sold those shares for $942 with a selling commission of $25.
What is the profit you earned ?
Here,
P = [ (SP x NS) – SC ] – [ (BP x NS) + BC ]
P = [ (942 x 15) – 25 ] – [ (917 x 15) + 20 ]
P = [ 14105 – 13775 ]
P = $330
The profit you earned is $330
Break even Share Price = (Buying Price x Number of Shares) + Buying commission + Selling commission / Number of shares.
Break even Share Price = (917 x 15) + 20 + 25 / 15.
Break even Share Price = $920.
